ANNUAL BUDGET AND CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS PROGRAM

The Municipality of Murrysville prepares an annual operating budget which provides a complete financial plan for all municipal funds and activities for the ensuing calendar year.  This is presented to Council for consideration on November 1st of each year.  Council shall adopt the budget, by resolution, on or before the last day of the month of the calendar year currently ending.

The Municipality also prepares a five (5) year capital program which includes a list of all proposed capital projects with cost estimates, methods of financing, and recommended time schedule for each project.  To be considered a capital project, it must have a useful life of five (5) years and/or an estimated cost in excess of $10,000.  The Capital Improvements Program (CIP) is presented to Council on August 1st of each year.  Once adopted by Council, the CIP becomes the basis for the annual Capital Budget included in the Operating Budget.
