FREE Intro to Fishing Programs with the PA Fish and Boat Commission
August 2 and 5 at Townsend Park Pond. 6:00 pm
The PA Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC) is offering FREE Introduction to Fishing Meet-Up programs at the Townsend Park Pond.
PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED. Limited Spots. NO fishing license needed for duration of program.
Interested in getting started with or learning more about fishing in Pennsylvania? These programs offer participants the opportunity to learn the basics of how to be safe, cast, bait a hook and go fishing.
PFBC staff provide the fishing equipment, bait and instruction. Again, NO FISHING LICENSE needed, the equipment, bait and instruction are provided for FREE.
Participants are welcome to bring their own equipment. This is a great opportunity to bring your newly purchased fishing rod and learn how to use it!

Reptiles and Amphibians in Your Neighborhood

Jim Pemberton, a reptile and amphibian enthusiast, will offer a program on reptiles and amphibians in western Westmoreland County, specifically focusing on those you are most likely to encounter on local trails and waterways. After the presentation Jim will lead a walk around the wetlands to explain what reptiles and amphibians call our local wetlands home! Jim will also have some critters on hand for guests to see up close. Registration for this program is FULL at this time. Thank you for such a HUGE interest in our wetlands reptiles and amphibians!
